“I love to spend time with my family, girlfriends, singing, and being creative! And after Jesus, my favorite thing is to help women to discover and know how beautiful they are.”
Jen and I met on our mission trip last summer to Ecuador. She immediately caught my attention with her gorgeous red hair and the way she seemed to genuinely love people. I then had the opportunity to hear her speak and share her message called “beYOUtiful.” Her beauty and passion for the Gospel radiates, and she is all about using her talents for God’s glory. An inspiration and role model to many, I’m happy to introduce you to Jen Doudt.
Name: Jen Doudt
City/State: Noblesville, Indiana
Church: Church for the Nations
When did you make the decision to follow Christ? When I was in 4th grade at church camp. Later on, I rededicated my life at age 18 — then I was all in.
Favorite Bible Verse: Isaiah 43:1 “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”
Favorite Book in the Bible: Psalms
Favorite Bible Character: David
Favorite Christian Artist: Anything worship by Bethel Music
Favorite way to connect with God: I connect with God in so many ways, it’s always different. He is always speaking! Listening to worship or reading the Bible always leads to journaling! I am always looking and listening for His voice.
High School: Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster, California. Psychology was my favorite subject!
College: Majored in Psychology
Career: Professional Makeup Artist and Co-Owner with my husband at Matthew Doudt Photography. We are a husband and wife team! We shoot a lot of weddings, senior pictures, and families. We love to make people feel beautiful and special.
Describe your personal style: I love anything lacy, frilly, or girly! I love leggings and dresses, and being barefoot as much as possible 🙂 I also have a huge collection of black clothes because as a makeup artist I wear it a lot! I am absolutely in love with anything vintage and things that would be in your grandma’s house. My house is cozy, cheerful, and full of red things. Red is my favorite color to decorate with! But lacy and frilly you will find in my home and in my closet.
What are your hobbies/talents? My husband and I lead worship and lead an amazing team of young people at our church. We also travel with a mission group, Akouo Missions! I have been blessed to build relationships in the Middle East and England. I love to spend time with my family, girlfriends, singing, and being creative! And after Jesus, my favorite thing is to help women to discover and know how beautiful they are.
What do you think it means to be a Biblical Beauty? Pursuing Jesus, encountering Jesus, and understanding who I am in Christ. Allowing him to change me on the inside transforms my view of who I am on the outside. Psalm 23:6 says “Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life.” Jesus is in a relentless pursuit of his daughters’ hearts. He wants to know us and be fully known. The more we know him, the more we understand who we are. Beautiful daughters of a King. The King of kings! And then we look in the mirror and love what we see, because we see exactly what he sees. You are altogether beautiful, there is no flaw in you. So be YOU, everyone else is already taken.
