Chapter four dives into the risk we take when we step out as artisans. Erwin says “the reason most of us never go from dreaming to creating is an uncomfortable middle space called risk.” When God created us and gave us the chance to choose Him or turn away, that was the greatest risk of all.
Some risks have been easier for me to take while others have yet to be taken. Moving to California from Kansas on my own was an easy decision, even though there was risk involved. I’ve also dreamed of pursuing wedding photography and videography, but the fear of what others think and not being as good as my peers has stopped me. Reading this chapter has inspired me to take the risks necessary in order to pursue what I love.
