I’ve often described myself as a creative and free spirited individual. I love starting new projects, but actually completing them can be a challenge for me. Chapter five of The Artisan Soul was incredibly convicting and motivating for me. Erwin uses athletes as an example when comparing hard work and talent. Though it’s a cliché statement, he’s right when he says “greatness never emerges outside of hard work.”
This chapter was a good wake up call that I need to start working harder if I truly want to be a freelancing creative someday. Yes, I am a student first, but I want to refine my craft as much as possible before I graduate next December. Hearing Erwin’s words wasn’t easy at first, but I am grateful I am reading this book sooner rather than later!
